Origin: Mexico (Nuevo Leon: near Rayones)

Growth Habits: Solitary, depressed dark grey green globose stem, up to 1.2 inches tall (3 cm), 2 inches in diameter (5 cm); root branched; tubercles somewhat conical, 5-6 angled, 0.16 to 0.4 inch wide (4-10 mm), 0.1 to 0.2 inch tall (3-5 mm); 4 to 6 thin, piercing spines, not paper-like.


Blooming Habits:
Cream to yellowish flower, up to 1 inch in diameter (2.5 cm). The fruit is greenish, turning brownish when mature, opening with a vertical slit.
